A lottery funded restoration of a listed Victorian park pavilion, surrounding features and terraces. The project was carried out under a lottery initiative to restore historically important parks in towns and cities around the U.K.
The building was in a bad state of repair, the pavilion and conservatories were dilapidated and the terracotta and stone features badly vandalised.
The pavilion was restored to its former glory with new conservatories. The terraces and rustic tea house were also restored and a new bandstand erected. The building is now used for musical events and meetings for local societies and has also featured in a number of television programmes.
