At R&M Williams we care about the impact of our operations on the environment. We adhere to a strict Environmental Policy and take active measures in key areas such as waste, energy and fuel consumption.
We are currently working towards ISO14001 accreditation for environmental management systems and have recently achieved Green Dragon Level 2 accreditation.
R&M Williams are committed to sound environmental practice through:
Improving Waste Management.
Working in partnership with our Supply Chain Partner, we ensure that all our waste is separated prior to disposal, and then recycled. We are working in conjunction with all environmental partners to achieve a zero landfill by 2013.
Locally Purchase Materials.
Working with national builders merchants enables us to do this and where practicable local materials are also used.
Reducing Energy Consumption.
We promote through the company the importance of the reduction of energy consumption and materials harmful to the environment both in our offices and on our sites.
Sourcing Alternative Fuels.
With a fleet of over 150 vehicles, to assist in lowering air pollution more than 50% of our vehicles use LPG or are hybrid vehicles with a rolling program of only purchasing LPG or hybrid vehicles on fleet replacement.
Working with our Suppliers.
We work closely with our suppliers to actively encourage them to adopt sound environmental practices.
Maintaining our exemplary Environmental Record.
To date we have had Zero prosecutions relating to environmental incidents.
